I know what Apostilled means!

Well not exactly because Merriam-Webster doesn't recognize it as a word.  Which also explains why the notary I was talking to last week looked at me like I had a third eye.  ;)  Reece's Rainbow says this:

"Apostilled is a fancy term for your state government to certify everything which has already been certified."

Basically it's a re-notarization of a notarization I guess.  But it also means a road trip to Austin is in order...and I love Austin!  Thank goodness for USAA and the free notary, as the apostille costs $10 per document and this is only the first round of things that will have to be done.

Next steps are as follows:

1. Get all of yesterday's documents notarized
2. Then get them Apostilled
3. FedEx to "country where he is"....does FedEx even deliver there I wonder?
4. Home Study

But look at this face....
Isn't it all going to be worth it?

  1. The good news is: Texas sets a limit for adoption apostilles. You will only spend $100. Even if you have to go to Austin more than once. I love this great state!

Congratulations on your commitment to Danny. He is adorable!

  4. I did not know that little gem of info...that here in Texas we will only pay one hundred bucks. That is just what I needed today to perk me up! I am just north of Austin in Pflugerville, you should stop by for a visit when you come!

  6. Hello! I am a college student from Minnesota and I have been watching/praying for Danny for the past month or so, since I first learned about Reeces Rainbow! I am sooo glad he has found a home and I praise God that it is one that loves Christ!!! I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you and your husband and for Danny and I am so excited about this opportunity Danny now has for a new life with a family who will love him!

Thank you for willing to be used by God!

  7. You can FedEx to Danny's country. Our boys are there, too. I have found UPS to be easier and not had any delivery issues, but either one delivers "there." We considered Danny before settling on Dawson and Isaac. Can't wait to follow your journey.

  8. Hello, I am a mom of a beautiful and sweet little boy with DS born on the exact same month, day, year as the one listed for Danny. I have been praying since the first day I saw Danny on RR that his name would be moved from the waiting children list to the my family found me list. I am so happy for you and for Danny. You will be in my prayers as you travel on this journey to adopt this adorable little boy.
