And Now For Something Completely Different

So when I started this blog I was pregnant and about to announce it to the world...which we did about a week later. Then about three weeks after that (at 16 weeks) we found out we were having a girl! Not too many days after that we found out we had lost our little girl. It has now been over three months and we have learned many things, no the least of which is that Blue Cross-Blue Shield is a crummy insurance company! {For anyone who cares, I will one day go into all the details, for I am an open book.}

So here we are. In the world of Something Completely Different. April 2011 is rapidly approaching and it appears that God's plans for the Whiteakers in 2011 don't seem to include a baby. We hope this is a case of "not right now." However we have also recently learned of an organization called Reece's Rainbow. RR is an agency dedicated to the adoption of Down Syndrome children from international countries. We are in the very early stages of learning about adoption in general (this was not what WE had planned) and international adoption of a DS child in specific. (Without a doubt now what WE had planned.) Prayers are being lifted up that God's hand is in this and if it is His will for us we will absolutely follow.

What we know now: 1. Adoption is expensive. In the past I have turned up my nose at people who fundraise for adoption but I now realize that this may be something I have to swallow my pride and do. If not for myself then for others who want to adopt through RR. 2. One of my favorite people in the world has DS and she lights up my world and Wes's. 3. God is faithful to his servants!
