Here Goes...

We just got home from a fantastic vacation in Costa Rica! I wish we could have taken you all with us...or just stayed forever so you could come visit. :) While we were gone we both did some serious thinking and praying about our decision to adopt. At one point it looked like it was going to be off the table for now. Seems like God has other plans! {Whoever said the thing about telling God your plans and making Him laugh sure got it right.} We have decided to move forward! This means a few things:

1. Wow, we have a lot of money to come up with! But we know that God will show us the way.
2. Yesterday I filled out the application for the agency, and spoke with a social worker about setting up a home study. Have to get approval from the agency before we do the study.
3. Prayers are needed!
4. Thinking this might be our guy, but really not sure yet. God, what do you think?

So in essence...Here Goes!

  4. This is very brave of you, Jessica. As an adopted kid, I'm especially touched. You and Wes will be amazing parents. I can't wait to see what your future brings! <3

  5. That's awesome! I'll be following this every step of the way! I have a friend who is in the process of adopting a girl from Thailand. Maybe I can put you in touch with her if you want someone who knows the process.

  6. He is adorable. Congrats on making the decision to adopt. You and Wes will be blessed! And of course so will any child(ren) you welcome into your home.

    Love, Tia

  7. This MADE my night! Well, you don't know me 'that' well, but if you ONLY knew how happy this makes me and how BLESSED all three of you will be doing this! I have a soft spot for DS children after reading Kelly's blog. If you haven't read it "Enjoying the Small Things"....PLEASE let me know and I will give you the link.
I have several friends who have adopted internationally and I watched them walk through it and the pure JOY that it brought to their lives...it is indescribable Jessica!

I will zip it for now (; but I am so very happy for you two. I wish I could give you a GREAT big hug!

  9. That comment was from Celia, not Joe. But I'm sure he's happy for you, too.
